In October, our stylink team went to the city of cities: London! For five days, not only were we able to gather valuable insights at various trade fairs and events, but also to get to know more than 40 stylink community members with different levels of reach and their individual styles of content. We had a wonderful week with great events and highlights in stunning locations around London. So, let’s look back on this time together! If you want to know which highlights we experienced and what our favourite drink of the week was, stay tuned!
Incredible views at the Sky Garden:
It went straight to the top: around 15 content creators spent the first evening with us in London’s highest (and prettiest!) garden: the Sky Garden! A small fun fact on the side… Did you know that the building is also called a walkie-talkie because of its shape? The evening was spent relaxing with drinks and delicious snacks to get to know each other. Our stylink bingo as a small activity of the evening was definitely a highlight. Our influencers were able to win a 75 EUR H&M voucher. And we made sure that our guests exchanged ideas with each other. The photos speak for themselves, so we would say… mission accomplished!
Crazy Pizza Times, Events and Panel Talks:
Tuesday also got off to an exciting start. The PI Live trade fair, the Affiliate & Performance Marketing Conference, also ran on Tuesday and Wednesday. The main focus was on affiliate marketing in the B2B sector. Stylink had the opportunity to connect with partner shops and make new contacts. Stylink COO Michael Elschenbroich was able to pass on important learnings from our daily office to-do’s as a speaker at a panel talk on the subject of “Affiliate Marketing: The Resilient Revenue Driver.” But of course we didn’t let our UK users down on this day either! At the dinner with almost 20 content creators at Crazy Pizza in Marylebone, stylink bingo was again played diligently. Afterwards, our team went to the PI Live after-show party at The Proud Embankment, right on the Thames. Trapeze artists and good drinks included!
Boohoo is calling:
The third day in London was also packed with adventures. Eight selected users joined us for a co-branded event with boohoo. After a delicious brunch at Feya Café (with dessert for breakfast), we went to the showroom of our partner shop boohoo. There, our users could take their time to get to know boohoo and stylink even better until 4pm. We love sharing with each other, and of course, it was a pleasure to enjoy the afternoon together with our most loyal users and boohoo. But stylink wouldn’t be stylink without action! Of course, we challenged our creators with a little fashion challenge. 😉 In keeping with the season, the focus was on transitional looks. Under the motto style the perfect brunch to night outfit, the creators had to style two complete outfits with boohoo before the event. Affiliate links were made live on-site, and the clicks on their links were counted. Our lucky winner @jaz_harrington took home a £300 voucher. If you love boohoo styles as much as we do, share your outfit inspiration with stylink now! Thursday was an intense day full of insights: Our team was on the road at the second trade fair Influencer Marketing Show.
Let’s go – IMS 2022:
Thursday was an intense day full of insights: Our team was at the second trade fair Influencer Marketing Show. It is one of the most important trade fairs for the creator and marketing community. Everything there revolves around the topics of content, agencies and brands. Our UK Brand Ambassador Jodi @nahlaandus was also on the road with us all day. This was a great opportunity to finally get to know each other in person although we had been working very happily with her for a whole year 😊 Jody was a great companion because she was able to share many insights with the brands from her perspective as a content creator. After the successful day at the fair, we went to the Ballie Ballerson for the IMS After Show Party. For a short time, our childhood dreams came true… a cocktail bar and ball pit, all–in–one; it doesn’t get any better than that! 🥂
Why are micro-influencers so interesting for events?
Our team colleague Jack gave a talk at IMS as Influencer Relations Manager about micro-influencers and their importance for companies! Our stylink community consists mainly of micro-influencers with up to 30,000 followers. Therefore, it is important for us to inform you about this topic. stylink is not only meant for influencers with a huge reach. That’s why we also wanted to have smaller content creators in London at our events. You’re asking yourself why? Quite simply, while big influencers may have a wider reach, so-called “micro-influencers” maintain a higher level of engagement with their community. That is why their content is sometimes even more trustworthy.
A perfect end with the events at The Shard:
Okay, we say it really often, but this time we mean it. There was an absolute highlight at the end of the week. We went to one of the best locations London has to offer: the 33rd floor of The Shard and the Asian restaurant Hutong in the UK’s tallest building. What better way to end a week than with a fabulous cocktail overlooking all of London’s skyscrapers? We met more than 20 community members that evening. To top it off, we handed out two awards on Friday evening: the stylink Rising Instagram Star and also the stylink Rising TikTok Star, which Beth with her Instagram channel and Cindy with her TikTok profile @ab61e were able to take home. Beth presents her outfits in outfit grids and thus passes on recommendations without presenting herself first and foremost. We think this is super innovative! At stylink, you can be successful with creative, unusual content. There are no limits to your creativity. Cindy started her channel during the COVID pandemic and has only been registered with stylink for six months.
Wrap-up of the events:
Our days in London were a very special time for us. Of course, this is also due to our wonderful creators who filled every day with so much life. We are so happy that you were there! We found it incredibly cool that so many Creators didn’t know each other personally before our week in London and the events. Now that we had the chance to bring our small stylink community closer together, we are absolutely sure that this was not the last. More events are already being planned. And what about the drink of the week? Pornstar Martini!
